Operation of a tachograph with an AETR card

When operating a vehicle equipped with an AETR tachograph, a number of rules must be observed:

  • The card can only be used by its holder (photo and personal data are indicated on the front side). Before the start of the flight, the card is installed in the device slot, activated and not removed from the tachograph during the entire flight.
  • The service life of the AETR card is limited. The use of an expired AETR card is not allowed. It is also unacceptable to use a faulty AETR card - i.e. one that is not identified by the device.
  • If the card fails during the flight, it is replaced immediately after its completion. b. The driver can continue driving to the destination, while he must manually record the time intervals of driving / rest.

The data stored on the electronic chip of the AETR card must be uploaded to an external medium or hard drive of a computer once every 28 days. Unloading can be performed by the driver himself or by a representative of the transport company using our Tacho2Safe data reader.
